You can see Dr Dejan Ilic for a wide range of services ranging from oral hygiene to wisdom teeth. The services offered by Dr Ilic do more than fix your teeth and gums, they make your own special smile even brighter.
Every patient at Centric Dental Views has the opportunity to see our dental hygienist who is a registered dental care provider specialising in the principles of preventive dentistry, particularly oral hygiene.
The great thing about seeing a dental hygienist is that, based on your medical history, x-rays and clinical examination, you become fully aware of the current condition of your or your children’s teeth and gums and what you can expect into the future.
Our dental hygienist carries out cleaning, scaling and root planning, often called deep cleaning, and will talk to you about oral hygiene measures, daily care and nutrition so that you can achieve and maintain good oral health.
In this procedure we remove plaque and calculus from above the gum line and in hollow pockets below the gum line.
When we do root planning we remove plaque and calculus from tooth roots and in deeper pockets below the gum line, sometimes under local anaesthetic.
If you or your children are involved in any contact activity you can also speak to our dental hygienist about a specially fitted mouthguard.
Preventive dentistry from Dr Ilic can help avoid serious and costly dental problems in the future and is the key to having a confident and beautiful smile.
Knowing how to floss and brush correctly is part of good oral hygiene and this, along with a balanced diet, fluoride protection, regular cleanings and check-ups all help to protect your teeth.
If you do require preventative dental intervention from Dr Ilic, whether its sealants for children’s teeth, deep scale cleans for adults with gum disease, or nutritional and oral hygiene advice for the family, Dr Ilic is there to help maintain your good dental health.
With Dr Ilic’s expert advice right from your first dental examination, you will have everything explained to you so that you fully understand how you can maintain healthy teeth and gums.
Restorative Dentistry is all about repair and bringing health back to teeth and gums.
Mending broken fillings, removing decay under old fillings or in between contact points and repairing cracks or fractures in teeth are all part of the dental restorative process.
While x-rays are the most common method of locating the area and the extent of the problem, fillings are the usual method for repair.

* These days, when fillings are required, a tooth coloured material filling is most commonly used. However, the amalgam or metallic filling, though less commonly used, remains a good material.
Whatever repair you require, your comfort is important to us and Dr Ilic will always fully explain the options open to you.

Just like putting acrylic fingernails on top of natural nails, the front surface of your tooth can be covered with a thin, translucent, shell of tooth-coloured porcelain made to fit over your teeth. This process can enhance the shape or colour of teeth, close spaces between teeth, repair chipped or broken teeth or cover up staining.
Using opaque, tooth coloured dental resin, dental bonding is a procedure utilised for the same purposes as porcelain veneers. But, because of differences in appearance, cost, durability and ease of application, it is important to discuss both options with Dr Ilic.
Acting as a support for a false tooth, a dental implant is a metal fixture that is placed into the jaw bone. While Centric Dental Views can assess your suitability for dental implants we do not offer this service. However, we are only too happy to help you find a dentist well versed in implant treatment.

CrownsOften used to restore teeth to their original shape or size, crowns cover or encase the entire tooth surface.
Crowns are often called caps and are mostly made from porcelain so that the colouring closely matches your other teeth.
This is an excellent way of permanently attaching replacement teeth in the mouth. It may not be for everyone, because, as with everything there are disadvantages as well as advantages.
However, by seeing Dr Ilic, he will be able to fully explain whether a bridge is the right way for you to replace any missing teeth.
All products used by Dr Ilic in his crown and bridge work are 100% Australian made, by registered Dental Technicians, using TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) approved materials.
They also adhere to the Australian Statutory requirements for Infection Control.

Dentures, like crowns and bridges have advantages and disadvantages which will be fully explained to you by Dr Ilic.
Made to closely resemble your natural teeth, dentures may even enhance your smile. They replace missing teeth and surrounding tissue, are able to be removed and sometimes prevent other teeth from shifting.
There are different types of dentures and what’s best for you can only be determined after a dental examination. Whether you require full or partial dentures made from acrylic or chrome are options that you need to fully discuss with Dr Ilic.
Generally, these are the last teeth to grow. Although just as useful as other teeth, wisdom teeth are a major source of potential infection in the mouth and can have serious consequences when infected or impacted (will not grow properly into the mouth). In such cases Dr Ilic will examine you and your x-rays to determine the nature of the problem and the best solution.
Removing teeth is often necessary because of decay, impacted wisdom teeth or other problems such as abscess or cyst formation. At Centric Dental Views extraction is a last resort. Dr Ilic does everything he can by way of other dentistry procedures to avoid removing teeth but there are situations where this is unavoidable.
Some cases require a general rather than a local anaesthetic. After consultation with Dr Ilic you may decide to have a procedure performed by an oral surgeon in a hospital environment under general anaesthetic. Central Dental Views will assist you with such arrangements.
This procedure takes place over an extended period of time. It is primarily aimed at preserving a tooth after it has been heavily damaged by nerve infection or other causes such as injury.
The decision to have root canal treatment is made after consultation with Dr Ilic who will discuss exactly what is involved, how many visits will be required and whether a finishing treatment such as a crown is necessary.
In the event that you decide to have root canal treatment you will be provided with a detailed explanation of the costs involved and what treatment you can expect to receive.
