For medical reasons there are many questions that only a professional dentist like Dr Dejan Ilic can answer and there is no substitute for dentist to patient expert dental advice.
However, some general questions that may be of assistance to you are listed below.
If you have never seen Dr Ilic or if you haven’t seen him for a while, Centric Dental Views offers you a comprehensive examination which includes x-rays.
In this consultation, you become fully aware of your current dental situation and get the opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have with Dr Ilic.
It also allows Dr Ilic to diagnose your condition and devise a long term treatment plan just for you. If Dr Ilic finds that there is not much dental work to be done, you are offered regular check-ups and quality home care advice.
The best time to see Dr Ilic is before you fall pregnant. Although baby is well protected in the womb, our policy is to avoid x-rays during pregnancy unless it becomes absolutely necessary.
Young children should first be introduced to their family dentist when they have teeth and generally about the time of their third birthday.
A potential concern is Early Childhood Caries and, in some cases it may be advisable for children to visit a paediatric dentist.
Letting your children see Dr Ilic at an early age, followed by preventive care, ensures that your child has healthy teeth and gums, can chew easily and develops a natural healthy smile.
Regular check-ups as children grow enable the family dentist to detect problems such as decay, crowded, missing or crooked teeth as soon as they appear.
By catching the problem early it is less difficult and less expensive to treat, with better results.
Centric Dental Views provides take-home information to enable you to recall the advice you receive from Dr Ilic or our dental hygienist.
Whether you have had teeth whitening, bridge work, crowns or dentures, this take-home information will guide you step by step through oral care procedures.
Also, Dr Ilic is always available for your regular check-ups, x-rays and cleanings.
In the unfortunate event you experience a genuine dental emergency, Centric Dental Views will schedule an appointment for you as soon as possible.
Upon your arrival, you will be made as comfortable as possible and, when you see Dr Ilic, he will diagnose and explain the best treatment option available for your situation.
Under the Medicare chronic disease dental scheme, you may be entitled to Medicare rebates for dental services.
This scheme is generally for people who have a long term medical condition and their oral health is impacting, or is likely to impact, upon their general health.
If you meet certain eligibility criteria and are referred by your treating doctor to an appropriate dental professional, Medicare may cover most of your dental expenses.
Under a different scheme, called the Medicare Teen Dental Plan, Medicare may help with the cost of your teenager’s annual preventative dental check up.
For more information on these schemes contact Centric Dental Views.
If you require palliative care (relief of pain) this will be given to you.
For example, you may be provided with a long-term temporary restoration or given a script for antibiotics or painkillers.
Or, your comfort may be improved by simply smoothing off a rough edge of a broken tooth or old restoration.
Before knowing the full costs of any treatment it is first necessary to know your current dental situation.
This means that after you see Dr Ilic in consultation, when we know what your dental needs are, we can provide you with a price range for your particular situation.
We offer a comprehensive examination for $125 and an emergency examination with consultation and one x-ray for $85.
All fees are payable on the day of your treatment.
If you have an extensive treatment plan or complex dental work to be done, you can discuss various payment options with Centric Dental Views.
You may also wish to talk to our staff about Vet Affairs - gold cards, Medicare scheme eligibility, Medicare youth vouchers, and Hicaps (for health funds).
Generally, we ask that all fees are settled on the day of treatment.
Don’t hesitate to ask any member of our staff about any issue which is of concern to you. Your comfort is important to us.
